The Swedish Taxonomy Initiative yearly announces grants for taxonomic research and inventories within poorly known organismal groups. This page gives information on the latest announcement and is updated yearly in April.

The 2015 grant announcement is closed, the last day of application was 1 June, 2015. Next announcement will be made in April, 2016.

How to apply

To apply, download the application form and carefully follow the instructions on its last page. Don’t forget to enclose a project description (maximum 8 pages) and CV for the main applicant and co-applicants. You will find a checklist of necessary appendices on the last page of the application form.

The signed application and nine copies should be with the STI at the latest 1 June, 2015. A digital version should also be e-mailed to Rikard Sundin.

The application can be written in Swedish or English, but project description and other appendices should be in English. The popular abstract should be written in Swedish.

Fixed sums for salaries

Doctoral student 515 000 SEK/year (maximum four years). Postdoctoral position 585 000 SEK/year (maximum three years). Visiting Researcher and "Intendent"  715 000 SEK/year (maximum three years), Senior Researcher 760 000 SEK/year (maximum six - three + three - years).

Evaluation process

The applications will be evaluated and ranked by STI's Scientific Committee, following guidelines decided by STI's Steering Committee. After the evaluation, the decision will be taken by SSIC. The evaluation guidelines (in Swedish) can be sent after from Rikard Sundin.
